Smile Memorial Day

As a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy (1967-1971), I want to thank all of the brave men and women who are serving our great country. I hope that all Americans will take a moment this weekend to do the same.

Yes it is a day to honor the brave soldiers who have given their life to protect our freedoms

Also - many remember family members who have passed

For me - being from Indianapolis - it was of course the INDY 500 and a family tradition of following the race on the radio

Two of my brothers are there today

I still enjoy the drama - the TV coverage makes it better - wish I was there - next year for sure

I give a lot of thanks for those who have served. We are a strong nation because of these fine folks.I am especially proud of my Dad,who retired after 24 years (1960-1984) of faithful service to this country in the United States Navy, and who also is a Vietnam (in country) veteran, and my engine builder.

Well said Ed, as I'm thankful for all of them too, and you especially "Super Fan 1" for starting this thread! I apologize for being a bit late with this reply, but I've been offline for a while from here, and am just trying to catch up with what I've been missing. However, I have routinely said thank you to every service person I've had the pleasure of meeting no matter where, or when I'd meet them...

Btw Ed, go get 'em in E'town this weekend for us slower rollers!
