SUPER STOCK
If 2 competitors are in the same class at the World Finals Tournament of Champions they will run off of a dial in. A jacket and pants meeting a minimum of SFI 3.2A-5 and a 3.3 neck collar are mandatory on all entries going 9.99 or quicker1/4 or 6.40 1/8 A jacket and pants meeting a minimum of SFI 3.2A-1 are mandatory on all entries going 10.00 and slower ΒΌ or 6.40 and slower 1/8. Engines may be a maximum of .075 overbore. Why in the hell do we have classes if your not going to run heads up?

Might as well change the name from SuperStock to "No Box". Another reason they won't get participation from the die hard NHRA guys. No heads up, no tear down, just another bracket race.

I Agree! IHRA is headed in the wrong direction. We don't need any more " NO BOX CLASSES"

I guess the "no heads-up" deal just at the year end World Finals is to keep anyone with a fast car from positioning themselves in a class where they can outrun the other qualified competitors. The field will be smaller than normal and the attendees will be known in advance. I don't believe the other "shootouts" have heads-up runs either. But one still has to make it through any possible heads-up runs during the course of the regular season to qualify.
As for the firesuits: "A jacket and pants meeting a minimum of SFI 3.2A-1 are mandatory on all entries going 10.00 to 11.49 1/4 or 6.40 to 7.50 1/8." I think they should have more specific ET breaks, perhaps based on indexes. With the way it is, a person can theoretically race without fire pants one run and be required to have them on another during the course of an event, or even the same day. What happens if someone runs below the minimum?

you are right D J, you and 95% of all other racers. you can cut their buts not running heads up.of course the only rounds some racers can win is heads up.
