Questions about slicks

What do you think is more important height or width.
If you could run either a 29X9 or a 28x10.5 slick which one do you think would hook better.

& try to get as wide as possible rim .. to get best foot print .
There's lots of 9 in. tires mounted out there on 10 in. wide rims
