Default Ames Automotive Foundation

I was recently invited to visit the Ames Automotive Foundation, which is practically in my backyard (Marlboro NH) and couldn't believe the cars there. Steve Ames was the founder of Ames Performance Engineering, specializing in Pontiac reproduction and original parts. He started collecting mostly original (not restored) cars with less than 10,000 miles. This is an incredible collection of about 100 cars, mostly '50's through '70's performance cars, and rare stuff, but he also has such things as a 1901 Oldsmobile and a 1958 Chevy pickup with 1.3 miles on it. The only racecar is the Tasca Ford '64 Thunderbolt. Check out their website. Entry is free, but by appointment only. Note that this is located on a dirt road and you probably couldn't get in there with a motorhome and race trailer.

Greg Pretty amazing that someone collected that many cars. I'd like to only have one. Thanks for letting us know about it. BP

Yup, I went there last year, and like he says - just an amazing array of cars in there, not just Ponchos. Well worth the go.

I’m glad someone has enough interest and the funding to have such a beautiful collection of classic cars and muscle cars under one roof. I would love to see this impressive collection in person. No doubt this investment is a full time.
