Default Chevrolet Tall Deck BBC ?

I was just wondering what the max bore would be for a Chevy tall deck bbc? The engine is a 427 TD and is in good shape. Thinking of building it into a bracket engine. I know about the intake and header issues. Also what stroke crank can i install in this motor.

Thanks

John

Provided it passes a sonic test, you can go 0.125" over, or 4.375".

I have put as much as a 4.5" stroke in one. It is very tight, and you have to be careful, grinding for rod clearance can break into the main oil gallery.

For drag racing I always pour the block up to the water pump holes.
