This is just a very impressive Buick! Buick guys are pretty proud of it and so we should be. Big congrats Jason from the Tri Shield camp.

Jason makes a lot of us look like we just started racing. His stuff is " Bad Fast ". And I would greatly appreciate it if he would not help Lance so much, Lance is plenty smart on his own!

Larry, not to take ANYTHING away from Jason's abilities but have you ever looked at a Buick cylinder head? The troubles are all in getting the bottom end to live.

I have followed and loved Jason and that car since he won the stock championship in the 90s.
Having pursued 455 Buick ownership and drag racing most of my adult life, what Billy said is the real truth. Before the TA cylinder blocks (not legal in stock) hard core high compression Buick 455s regularly split apart in the main saddles-and by regularly I mean every 10-50 passes. spun rod bearings due to the incredibly poor oiling system is considered by some to be just normal operating procedure. I gave up on 11 to 1 combos in the late 90s and settled into 9 to 1 "safe" combos that would last-only high twelves in 4000 lb street trim but no engine removal every 6 months or less.

The ET s I see from Jason's car continue to stun me every time I see it run-those guys are an incredible team making that thing run that hard and live!

Agreed. IMHO, it was by far the most impressive sportsman race car on the property. It's performance is truly outstanding. I would love to see an in-depth tech article on this car and it's mechanicals.

I bet a lot folks want to see those secrets Jimmy! Just think if Buick had made a ram-air fiberglassed hood and plastic inner fenders version;-)

Jim -- Completely agree. Billy--You're right about the cylinder heads and I would expect after three more passes Jason would be rolling some bearings in it. Awesome effort !
