Fred Burris , longtime D 3 Superstock/stock competitor was at Gateway this past weekend at the national event. I spoke with Fred this weekend and it's been three years since he was at a track. Although he doesn't get around like he once did,he was in great spirits and looked good (for his age ) LOL !!! ....The first time I met Fred was at Paul Harvey Ford in Indianapolis when all the class winners had to tow over to the dealership to tear down. He was working on one of the Cal Method Racing chevies. We had some good laughs this weekend although Fred was a little mixed up regarding some of the details...LOL.!!! Here's to you Freddie !!! M.J.

Back in the late 80's, I was looking to build a new Stocker and talked to Fred about different combinations. He said to me, "If I was building a new car I would build a 74 Pontiac 350 like Buddy King had". I researched it and sure enough it was a very good car. I built the 74 GTO, later a 74 Grand AM, and I'm just about finished with a 71 T-37. Thank you Freddie for the great advice and starting my love affair for Pontiacs. Glad to hear you are back at the track. Hope all is well.
