Default Dogs at the Track

I know this might not make me any friends, but I need to vent after my Englishtown experience. It really takes a special person to bring a dog to the track and let it bark for 3 days! Is the dog having a good time tied to the motorhome, barking its head off, while your in the staging lanes? What ever happened to a little common sense? I know that they are "part of your family", but their not part of mine. How about some consideration for the people around you? I know a lot of racers have track friendly pets, thats not an issue for me. It's the ones that shouldn't be there. People need to take a moment and think "Is this a good idea? or a convenent one". There is a sign at the gate that says NO PETS, but that must be for the spectators.(it also says no alcohol, but lets not get carried away. lol) rant over, Thanks E

Should be the same as in a RV campground, you are not allowed to leave
dogs tied up outside if you are not there, they must be inside the RV.

I leave the track feeling the same way pitted next to a loud generator all day long too!

2X on the Gen, They always put it on the opposite side of where they are so they don't have to listen to it, which means it is closer to you!

My lab is skittish around vacume cleaners, lawn mowers, tractors (both lawn and farm). Pretty much anything that makes noise, let's not even consider the race cars. If I took her to the track. If she got loose, she'd be in the next county first chance she got, LOL! Now my other dog, he could care less. He'd be fine, unless there was another dog around.

When I was involved in historical reenacting, I saw the same thing. People would bring pets with them and leave them in the camps. Most were never a problem but some were nervous and scared the whole time. Too much loud noise, unfamilar strangers, sights and smells.

Agree, wouldn't do it to my dogs.

Q: Are pets allowed at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis during events?
A: Animals are not allowed except for service animals

I have even seen some dogs running unleashed at the U S Nationals.

Thumbs up Re: Dogs at the Track

I bring two labs to the races with me. They stay in the motor home unless they have to do their duty, then I always pick up after them. What makes me mad is dog owners who let their dogs poop in areas where someone could step in it, drive over it, or kids play in it! As far as I am concerned, it is cruel to tie an animal up to the truck, trailer, or motor home and leave them. You will never hear my dogs bark unless you come into the motor home when I am not there, then you are in deep dog poop! Tonka has become very possessive of "his" motor home!

Generators are another thing. I agree with the NHRA rules on them. there is no replacement for consideration of your neighbors. Quiet generators and exhaust stacks are the only way to go. Jim
