Default Comp Section

Looks like NHRA is trying to communicate. Very Good!!! and Class for SS and Stk at the Gators. That's always good.

Question Re: Comp Section

Mr.Teuton, although NHRA does have a "fair" amount of class races, I believe they could do much better. Div. 3 doesn't have an in Division class race, Indy doesn't count, that's everybody's class race and I do not understand how Las Vegas gets it twice, with both STK and SS having class? If you went on car count Div. 1 should get both stock and super stock class at both the E-Town and Reading National Event. My personal opinion is to have class at all National Events; however simply alternate Stock and Super Stock. Gainsville, Indy and Vegas could have both and that would be 15 Class races + 3 Sports Nationals would make for exiting Thursdays and Fridays @ the track. Forget about contingency for a moment. I believe this would be a crucial ingredient to getting the car counts back up. People build their cars, be it STK or SS to go fast against others of the same class. Give them more opportunity to do so. If your not gonna pay us @ least give us 1 page of recognition in each National Dragster, lol!

It's just that the Gators were always a good class race. Early, snowbirds down, hemi cars out, and Div 1 has more s/ss racers than I have hair (not saying much). Who knows, maybe it will evolve that s/ss class at each event. Was there before. And a lot of fun. Maybe with all the pros going away, they might have room for us.

Exclamation Re: Comp Section

Mr. Teuton, sorry to contradict your statement; however NHRA hasn't been trying to add more, they have been taking away! Less teardown, poor tech and not to mention their precious dinner reservations has shortened the raceday length into almost laughable. Most National Event car counts wouldn't need but one or two rounds to finish the class race; however more than a dozen times this year I seen three or four qualifying runs at National Events with low counts. I would say give one Qualifying hit then right into Class on Thursday, teardown on Friday. Like I said this might cut into " some peoples" dinner reservations, although IHRA doesn't mind running late and getting it in for the racers. The first round of class could count as Q2 and this would also make playing the ladder more difficult for some. I know we have 3 Sports Nationals now and that's cool as all H*#L, can't wait to go to my first one, still not enough! Hopefully somebody @ NHRA cares as much about this subject as we do. C U @ Bellerose.

Talking Re: Comp Section

SS/GSI , if we pay for 3 qualifing runs we should get 3 qualifing runs . No one should get bumped runs at any event's . The current system seems to work fine, 2 qualifing then first round of class . I for one like the schedule at NHRA national events , some have a life away from the track . I enjoy my diner reservation and cocktails with friends .

I like IHRA but dont miss running late into the night

Bo, I was just offering up my ideas. If they want to give us 2 Qualifying runs then count first round of class as Q3 even better. Remember Bo, no runs are mandatory, so if you want, you don't have to make your class runs and therefore make your reservations; however I think I know you well enough to say you would be pi$$ed to miss your reservations, but I know you would stay to run! Never Lift, lol! The first time we have to stay late for Class, I will take us all out for a late dinner. Plus the upside is you don't need reservations. The only problem isn't your reservations, it's NHRA's, so I wouldn't worry too much about us having to stay late.
