Am I understanding correctly that at the national events they don't do class racing at all anymore? not even at indy?

They still run class. Take a look at the link below. The "Y" means they run that category at the event and the "C" means they run class at the event.

Jason, Class will be run at 9 races for stock and 9 for super stock.
