East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame-My Classic Cars

This July 31, My Classic Cars will air the video from the East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame, in Henderson, NC, last year. For a preview go to My Classic Cars and look at episode 23, season 15.

We are going to race Friday night at Roxboro (Person County) Dragway, after the barbque in Henderson for the start of reunion week-end.

My retired Super/Gas Roadster gets a couple cameo shots in this episode. In fact when Dennis Gage interviews Nancy Wilson (Henderson show producer) they are sitting in the Mahaffey Motorsports "Kid Stuff" Roadster. See the car here in my profile (Orange now)

Is the Friday night race@ Roxboro a definite and scheduled ? My good friend Clem LaChance, "The Mad Frenchman" is being inducted this year and wants to run his 10 sec. 6 cyl. Maverick on Friday night. Plus I will bring the Monza so I can grudge race the old man for the 1st time in 25 years. He is 79 years young and still actively races with N.E.T.O. in the norheast. He just runner-upped a few weeks ago at one of their events.

AJ Ware of Roxboro Motorsports park is very serious about racing on Friday night of the East Coast Hall of Fame Weekend. One of the suggestions on the table right now is to try and get as many Nostalgia drag racers as we can to set up old style Match races. So I will pass along to AJ that you guys want to match race that night, I think my father Mike ( Chris3racing ) is trying to set himself up a match race with my Duster vs ???. But It is already on the schedule for Roxboro but keep a watch here and we'll post any new news..

Any other old time drag racers intrested in setting up a match that friday night ???

I had stopped to talk to Nancy at her office and she told me there were several cars coming from the Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, michigan area who wanted to run their cars during the reunion weekend. They were a group of nostalgia mopar super stock racers. The more the merrier. I tried calling Mike and call went to voicemail.

Joe I'm glad you got to talk with Nancy and hope everything is set up. The races are not actually a part of the reunion; however, it has become know as the "southern swing" the week before the reunion. Last year some of us went to Z-Max on Tuesday night for a special charity race, then to Piedmont on Thursday night for a "home coming for a Sox & Martin car, then on to Reunion Week-end in Henderson. As plans progress, we will post in case others might be interested.
