Default Changing cars after first round completion Div 6

Div 6 posted this on there website for the completion of a race that was rained out earlier this year at Mission first round completed.

Notes for completion of Mission LODRS:
TAD, TD, TS – returning drivers may re-register in a different vehicle. Driver and vehicle must be submitted for technical inspection prior to running.
Comp, SS, Stock, SC, SG, and SST – returning drivers may re-register in a different vehicle but must remain in the same class (i.e. A/D to A/D, A/S to A/S, etc).

Replacement vehicle cannot have been utilized by any other contestant at the same event.

Any driver wishing to participate with a replacement vehicle must present replacement vehicle to tech for inspection prior to any runs being attempted

The rule book states this also

5. Sportsman categories: All previous event times are voided for
the vehicles and drivers involved. Changes must be made and
driver must re-qualify during the normal schedule, as posted for
the event. No changes are permitted after qualifying has been
completed.

So how come they will let you change cars?
I do still have a car in this race.

Since the race was rained out and time has passed, it is entirely possible the driver doesn't have the car anymore. He could have sold it, transported it to another part of the country or maybe he no longer has a relationship with the team.
Makes perfect sense.

First round done in the books, ladder set. What if there is a heads up race for a second round( I believe there is one in SS) you can got shop for a faster car and use it, has only been 2 1/2 months since the original date? The rule book cleary states the rules on this.

Yes, but interestingly slightly different rules than Division 7. I lent my car out Monday after the Sonoma national event for the completion of the Phoenix race and the driver was allowed to change classes. But I think they were not allowed any heads up and it was random pairing for the first round and somehow put on a ladder for second round. And the one possibility that Jeff left out in the case of the driver I lent my car to he kicked the rods out of his at a latter race and did not have it fixed in time.

Seems to me rules are rules ... except for NHRA, then you make them up as you go ...

When rd one has been run ladder has been set. Sounds like a div 6 left coast rule

I believe something like that happened in Division 1 a few years ago first (second) round was random pairing . I was in line for the bye, but didn't get it. Field was closed but you could bring any car. as long as driver stayed the same.
