Default Heads up races

How are the eliminations in Stock and Super Stock ran at the Sportsnationals? Are they heads up with a handicap for your index?

Where else can you get an all heads up eliminator in Stock and Super Stock?

IHRA sportsnationals are heads-up in stock and superstock. If you have someone in same class you can go fast as you want to for the win with no break out. Has always been like this and as far as i know it will stay like that.

All NHRA races are heads up if cars are in the same class.

Yes, I know its head up if you run someone in your own class, but I was interested in all heads up eliminators (handicapped per your index anyway).

Heads up usually means leaving at the same time, right?
Your talking about handicap starts, but no break outs?

What would be the point in doing that ? Just wondering .

Thats the way it was when we ran off the records. Thats the way it should be now. The rally racers used to have to reach the finish at a precribed time, not so in real drag racing.

Sounds like Comp Eliminator. The further under your index ($$$) you can run, the better the odds of winning. Not a sportsman-friendly concept.
Usually more $ = more wins. "Driving" ability, while always a factor, is reduced considerably. I believe some of the older guys here said it was tried, but with unfavorable results in the '70's.

Not that we need to get in to semantics here, but I suppose no break out racing would be better terminology. And yes, like comp. There is a lot of talk about how its not really worth trying to get records, qualify well etc. It would be nice to encourage/reward racers that are spending time dialing in there setups.
