Default Appreciation for Photographers

Just how much do we as racers appreciate the great photos that they take. They make cars like my Cuda
look much faster than it is when for that split instant they catch it with the front wheels off the ground. It's much easier for them when the cars carry the wheels out a great distance, but the slugs that pop the wheels for that instant that is more difficult. Hats off to them.

Default Re: Appreciation for Photographers

Jeff,

From a "part time photographer", we do work hard to get the pic. I learned many years ago about torque and horsepower. Camaros and other GM products would produce great wheels up shots, but you have to quick and right there on the line. Mopars and big block Fords, BACK UP! They will carry them out to you.

I also learned from talking with the racer that they wanted two things, a good shot of all the sponsors decals or signage and shots that showed how the car was working(before the video cameras). They were interested in the round so they could compare what their combination was doing.

One rewarding shot I took was of a Jet car that came to the local track and his car shot was rather small, but I had a shot of the bottle rockets going off that he had placed behind the car. He was so excited to see something he had not seen since he was in the car all the time.

The photography has gotten me close to learn more and maybe in a couple of years I will be in a few shots myself.
