Default Good Ol' Charlie Brown - 1991

This car has to be one of my all time favorites in super stock. I took these photos at my home track in 1991 at an IHRA points race. As most of you probably know, Mike Boyles was IHRA World Champion eight times with this car.

Wayne.

Mike has also been the Classic Gear Jammers champ three times, including 2008. Aside from my parents and family, Mike Boyles is my hero. The man can wrench and drive! The wagon is a full stick( no pulling in gear) Most people could not fathom how difficult it would be to win a round, let alone championships in a car like this. Great memories indeed, Charlie Brown is an I.H.R.A. icon. Makes you want to throw an automatic in the dumpster!

I thought that dumpsters were invented for automatics then they discovered they worked for trash also.
I used to tease people we used to bracket race with when they tried to convert us to a glide I told them the way I figured a Liberty clutchless was 500 times better than a glide, they would say how's that?then I
explain we sold 500 automatic cores 10 bucks a piece to buy a liberty 4 spd.(1988 was the year).I've
had 1 automatic car that was my first and last.Still have the car but is stick now.
