will ihra follow nhra with the three inch trans brake button rule? if they do what would be the reasoning for this move. what would be some good reasons not to follow nhra.

Good question, but from what I see IHRA will stay IHRA, they DID NOT do away with the truck class's, they DID NOT do away with the F.I. class's. I can see where they could change to the valve grind rule to make that the same between the 2 sactioning bodies.
The way it looks right now, all you need to do for next year is change the oil and put in fresh gas.

Just allow Delay Boxes then it won't matter about the buttons.

There you go Chip...then they can do away w/ the .90 index classes, lump all the sportsman classes into 1 top e.t. class and we can just let 400 cars run for the $1200 purse! Or we could all stay at our home track and run for more money in our local top e.t. program, that's not why I started class racing.

Already tried. If I remember correctly, the strategy was the faster car just watched the slower car and went off of him, you will always have a better light (as long as you dial aroud .4-.6 faster). Your natural reaction will be .3-4 (including the cars reaction), giving you a .1-.2 light almost every time (your opponent will always be .5 or worse on the tree). This will work in almost all cases if you can dial within .4-.6 of the slower car (index permitting), and drive the stripe halfway decently.
And people think Danny, Peter, Lee, Jimmy B., the entire Emmons Family, plus the Wilkes & Hall Brothers win all the time now... |

Another reason to go to IHRA. Still a bit closer to the way it's supposed to be in my opinion.
