Default 1962 savoy

I just picked up a '62 Savoy. It was originally a 413 and now a /6. Have been looking at the guide. Anyway of building a 2 or 3 dime rocket with this body. The 413 seems too expensive to build. The 314 poly 4bbl the 361 2 or 4bb/ and the 383 are possible. The body is solid and a 20' looker. All I need is some help for the best build route. And no I did not hit the Mega Millions or save money by enrolling in Obama care. I thought that Jerry Stein had some project ideas for the Savoy? Thanks

This was a 413 car and was converted over to a inline 6? That is bass ackwords. The 413 will be expensive to build, but could be done cheaper if you don't mind running index or just under index. I would do a 413 myself. Always thought those were cool cars.

Having just built one. Move on if your looking for a dime rocket unless your going to try a poly 318. Otherwise get ready to spend 50k plus to build a competitive one.

I think the first thing I would do is send the VIN to Darrell Davis (http://racehemi.maxwedge.com/dld/) and see if it is indeed an original 413 car. You may be better off selling the car if it is indeed an original Max Wedge car, and investing the money towards a better class combo.

My thoughts exactly. I have the book so post the VIN and I'll look it up.

Its a 4 door 413 originally. The owner blew the motor and swapped a /6 that he had on hand.
