1970's Utica/Rome Dragway Photos
I came across some albums of pictures taken at Utica Rome Dragway in the 70's.

The most interesting thing has to be the pits - looks more like a parking lot. Hard to imagine now with all of the big rigs. And look how close they stood near the starting line... Thanks to Lynn Morton for taking/posting these.

Great site!..I'll spend way too much time going back over these shots. really cool that nearly every car had a name.........Lots of familiar names ,including one with a car I never knew about , D1'S Curt La Sure in a H/G 4 door Valiant !.......Tom

I'm just guessing here,,but is the orange '69 Camaro "Checkmate" of Tom Fletcher the same car that Dan runs in Superstock today? If it is thats the earliest photo I've seen of the car. Great shots by the way,,,thanks for sharing.
