Default Nhra = board

NHRA equals FIVE people. This group is only answerable to themselves. At this point the only way to get rid of them is if they vote one of their fellow members off the board, resigns, or takes the Wally route and dies.
The only thing they care about is keeping the gravy train they are riding going. Tom Compton making $700,000 a year, maybe acceptable. Dallas Gardner making $300,000 plus a year for a 1 hour work week, unacceptable. These carpetbaggers have tried to sell NHRA once to the HDP and the deal fell apart. They would try again to cash out again if they could figure out how to do it. How long before Gainesville, Atlanta, Indy, or the Museum are on the market. Maybe they are already mortgaged to the hilt and there isn't any equity left in them explaining the drastic measure of doubling the fees.
I think writing letters is a waste of time. They have probably have laid off the worker that would open them and they will just sit in a mail bag. Besides TC is smart enough to know the fallout that is occurring anyway. He doesn't care. For all we know NHRA could be collapsing around him and the Gang needs some instant cash.
What to do?

IDEA #1 Contact your California legislators and have them close the loop-hole in the legislation that permits Not For Profits Corporations to get away with this. Make NHRA accountable to it's membership. Point out that is might even be a revenue source for the state.

IDEA #2 Pat Jefferion needs to get with fellow track owners, both NHRA, IHRA, and Independent, and start a new association for the sanctioning of Drag Racing. One dedicated to drag racing not to a bunch of Pros running NITRO.

IDEA #3 Boycott NHRA owned tracks until the gang of five resigns or gives drag racers and track owners a legitimate power base to promote drag racing, both now and in the future.

I hate to say it but Rich Christionson has done more to promote grassroots drag racing that this Gang has. Their idea of a new idea is to change marketing firms.

The bigest problem is that most of these other sanctioning bodies require NHRA certs and licenses. I for one have not run a NHRA race in the last 5 years, i have run mainly NMRA and NMCA. But even they require all cars to follow NHRA rules, certs and licensing. Look at the crap that was stirre dup earlier this year with the ADRL wanting to run thier Xtreme Nitro cars at a hight percentage than NHRA felt was ok. NHRA has gotten too powerfull for its own good, the only way to make a statement now is a TOTAL BOYCOT. Even bracket racing at a NHRA sanctioned track requires you to be a member.

Has to be an alternative, other than parking everything.

That is why you start your own sanctioning body. You can now decide what, along with the insurace carriers what critera needs to be met for safety requirements.
Do you ever wonder why your SFI helmit, fire suit or seat belts are accepted by each accociations tracks but a chassic has to have both a NHRA sticker and a IHRA sticker. They both meet the same specs.
