Talking Re: CCRA 2021 points

Thank you for the kind words Drake. Always a pleasure to see and talk to you and your family. I've never posted on here before, but with the request, I had to oblige.
And thank you Mr. Davenport for your kind words as well.

The 1970-72 Ford Maverick is a Corporate Manufacturer car via the old IHRA. Am a happy NHRA National Open guy now. Thanks Rich Schaffer! and Cody!

The vitals of the Mave:
Purchased in 1992. Painted in 1993. 1st event was 1996 Fun Ford Weekend, Atlanta. 1st time in Stock Eliminator was 2000 at Douglas Ga.

GT40P cylinder head (F7TE casting) 302 engine that is a production engine used in the Ford Explorer 1997-2000 with these particular heads. There are two versions of the engine available for use, 1 with the production .422 .448 lift cam (240hp factor) or the .498" E303 equipped cam at 257hp factor (Yes, I have both stocker cams, ).

I typically run in K/CM with the 257hp / 302 engine, 2995 minimum wt. The stock eliminator Hyd Roller cam was made by Crane but is only .480" lift at the valve (core availability limitations at the time) and a lot of duration. Ross 99595 flat top 4 eye brow pistons with the .030" swimming pool on the crown. The GT40P heads have 1.84" intake and 1.48" stainless steel valves, stock runners, and a 60.5cc chamber. Have used both the Edelbrock Perf RPM and Vic Jr with equal success. Vic Jr currently on it and the spec 4779 750 Holley.

Still using the original Ford C4 casing that came in the car and of a course a spare sitting in the corner, some where. I had to use it this year. 1st time in 20 years having transmission issues. Same track if you can believe that. Mooresville this July. Thankfully it made it though til I got the spare up and going for the next weekend. Spare C4 had been sitting since 2004. Just kept freshening the same one and it finally caught up with me (low gear set coming apart and cracked a forward clutch pressure plate. Didn't think I could do the 2nd one.
TCI converter (have tried 4 converters total) and the C4 is rollerized.

Ford 9' rear axle on 28 spline Moser Axles. Yep, found out where 1040 steel factory Ford axles break, and that would be when you try to push for that 6.90s 1/8 mile timeslip when the air is good (2013). Wilwood brakes all the way around. Caltracs bars, leaf springs, and Caltrac shocks.

Best et 1/8 - 6.94 in 2014 though I haven't taken another stab at it flat out since then in that kind of air.
Best et 1/4 - 11.20s in some pretty good air. Think I might can reach the 10.99 flat out, but haven't been able to try it in good enough air.
Probably way TMI. But there it is. I'm just glad I still can race as a Stock Eliminator car. I've had many people help me over the years and I'm grateful to them.

Thank you to Leigh Ann and Tabitha for your hard work on CCRA!!! It is a great bunch of guys and gals to race with and spend time with. The food at Coastal Plains was fannnnnntastic. The people make it a lot of fun and we laugh together. I often stay to watch til the end after eliminated to enjoy the racing and congratulate Winner & RUps. It's more fun than you might think. Love it when someone wins who has been waiting a while. I get all excited for them. Plus I just love to hear those big cams!
