Default Passing of Bob Moran Sr.

Robert E. Moran Sr.
1934 ∼ 2020

Robert E. (Bob) Moran Sr, 86, of East Falmouth, passed away on Saturday, August 22nd peacefully at his home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born and raised in Falmouth, he was the youngest of eight siblings. He was a Crane Operator and worked many years for Hydrodgredge. He traveled throughout New England working off the shores of many well-known beaches and bridges. Locally, he was part of the team that dredged Menehaunt Beach and the Falmouth Harbor. He also worked for Crosby Boatyard building boats. He loved the ocean and could be seen frequently down at the Falmouth Harbor watching the boats, fishing, and hanging out with his longtime friends. He loved to tinker in his flowerbeds, vegetable gardens, and in his garage fixing lawnmowers. He had a huge heart and was willing to give a helping hand to his neighbors and friends throughout the town.

On May 3rd 1955, Bob married the love of his life, Margaret J. (Roberts) Moran. They were married for 65 years. Bob is survived by his son, Robert E. Moran Jr of East Falmouth, and his wife Anne. One of Bob’s greatest joys was to watch his grandchildren grow and be a major part of their lives growing up. He would do anything for them and their children. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Jennifer Moran and Stephanie Moran, both of East Falmouth and Tiffany Miranda of Mashpee and her spouse Omar; great grandchildren: Courteney Sprague of East Falmouth and her husband Will, Jasmine Moran, Roshaun Moran, Collyn Moran-Bagg all of East Falmouth, and Eliana Miranda of Mashpee. He was blessed to be part of five generations and has two great-great grandchildren: Paisley and Harper Sprague both of East Falmouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; including his great niece and nephew Anna-Lee Lavoie of Florida and Jamye Lavoie Jr of East Falmouth, whom he raised as his own. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

On behalf of the family, we would like to thank the Vidal Ave neighbors that have helped look out and cared for Bob. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made at the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org/donate.
