Not much difference than Mike Beards ClassNationals.
First year was an awesome event..timing killed the next one.
Fault myself for not supporting it a second time.
It could have added a difference.

NHRA did not support the CM and PS classes.
Which could have kept IHRA alive.
Purest snubbed the classes and NHRA saw this.
Now the new threat is all Class racing as we know it will be eliminated.
Especially since NHRA owns us!
I am not sure if you were racing in the early 80's when IHRA had a fantastic Stock and Super Stock program . Their National events were great and had sportsmen fields that rivaled NHRA . That changed in a big way when Billy Meyer bought the sanctioning body and dumped Stock, Super Stock , and Modified , and replaced them with index classes like 12:50 , 11:50 , 10:50 ...etc . They did that for several years until Meyer sold the business and the new owners put Stock , Super Stock , and Modified back in the program and kept Hot Rod , Super Rod , and Quick Rod . Problem was that they never got the Stock and Super Stock racers to come back in any quantity . Some of those racers probably left with a bad taste in their mouth , having spent good money to run some of the IHRA classes that didn't have a direct cross-over to NHRA . That's why NHRA will never drop Stock and Super Stock , they wouldn't want to lose a big portion of their base .
