Default Re: S/st set up

I have often wandered why so many racers build a car that will run low 8's or even high 7's only to have to slow them down to run a 9.90???? wouldnt it be easier for the driver and the equipment to build a S/G car that will run say 9.4's and not have to put it on a stop at all or for a minimum ammount of time?

I am going to be running S/St or S/G this year after being away from NHRA racing for several years, and our Mustang with the little motor will run 10.6's and with the better motor it will go 9.7's.. either way I am going to try to run without a stop, and use timming or wieght to put me on the number.
