Hello all. Just a quick update for the day. Steve continues to get stronger. He can even stand up by himself today. Amazing the difference a week will make!
We slept in our bed for the first time last night in over a week. It sure felt good to wake up this morning with my husband next to me. Reminded me of the days when he had been on duty and it was his first night back home from the firehouse. Waking up with him is my favorite time of day. Always has been. I have never taken one morning for granted and I never will.
Steve attempted to eat a piece of french toast this afternoon, but he could not do it. I was happy that he just wanted it. That means his appetite is returning. I can't wait for the first evening when we are sitting at the table together having a meal. What a sweet time that will be.
I know he will improve every day and soon this will all be a memory. Actually, more than just a memory, this has been on of those rare times in life when you learn what you are made of, who your friends are and how strong your faith is. We will not forget any of these things that have sustained us.
I return to work tomorrow. To be perfectly honest, I am having anxiety about it already. But, I do have to get back to my job. Jane and Sherry and the guys rely on me and they have all stepped up. I need to get back and relieve them of the burden of one less person in the office. We all know how difficult that is. I am forever grateful to you all at HH&M for allowing me to be with my husband and not have to worry about my job. I know it has been hard on all of you.
To those who are coming this week to be with Steve and take care of him in my absence, how will I every repay you? PJ, Lyndsay, Dianne and Rick. Thank you. I know he is in good hands.
Please continue to pray for us as we know your prayers have been answered over and over again. God is good.
Also, remember to tell those you love how important they are, kiss them every chance you get and forgive them when they have caused you pain. You will benefit by it.........
Love, Frosty
