as you remove shims , the plunger has a longer travel , and the spring gets stretched . Wouldn't lengthening the spring put more tension on it, and wouldn't this increase the velocity of the plunger on it's way back ? negating the "delay" that you are trying to get by removing the shims. I was enlightened on this topic by a fellow SS racer ... anyone care to chime in ?
