The minimum wage in California, effective January 1, 2024, is $16.00/hour for all employers.

What is the federal minimum wage for farm workers?
$7.25 per hour
The Fair Labor Standards Act (?FLSA?) does require that most agricultural workers receive at least the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.

I found this interesting. Additionally, it used to be that it cost another 50% of wage for benefits (workers comp, social security, insurance and retirement) no wonder strawberries are so expensive.

California requires minimum wage for under 25 employees, over 25 an employer can pay piece work wages. Farmers and labor contractors, piece rate is the perfect solution for increasing
productivity and turning a profit. California Dept of Industrial Relations only requires Workers Comp. to be paid by the employers. I would check the price of fuel for trucking from farm to market for price increase.
