Smile Re: Mid Atlantic Super Gas Association next weekend!!!

Damn Wayne, I just got home from the track...give me a couple of minutes....hahah Just Kidding

Alright, well I am writing this fast so Leanne my grammer is going to suck.

Saturday's race had 19 cars show up but, due to the on again off again rain showers we didn't get started till around 3pm pushing first round deep into the night. After 1st round was completed and the Super Pro cars were in the lanes Joe Sway made the right call and went to a 1/8 mile race. From the rain the day before and the POLLEN laying on the track it made for some unsafe conditions. Due to the fact that most S/G cars don't run 1/8 mile the decision was made by Lucky to call the race and give 1st round losers 30 points and winners 41 points.

Sunday's race saw 19 cars again as we lost 3 overnight due to prior engagments and gained 3 new racers. 17 cars would make the 1st round call as 2 cars had issues on time runs and had to call it a day. As elminations started George Smith had the bye-run as his 9.905 barely squeaked by Don Miller's 9.906. So after the Bye-Run by Smith he was to match up against George Donhauser but mechanical issues kept Donhauser from running. Next Smith would dispose of Class Racers own John Asta in the 3rd round to earn a bye into the final. On the other side of the ladder Pete "Lucky" Luciano hot off his Virginia R/U was making his way through the field to earn a date with Smith in the finals. The first round Luciano beat a fouling Don Miller to get a bye into the 3rd round where Rob Keister would foul out also against him. In the semi finals Lucky would get the task of trying to take out Mr. Boicesco. Lucky would lay down a 9.900 against Iggie and put himself into the final round against Smith. So the final was set meaning that for the 3rd race of a young MASGA season we would have 3 different winners. As the finals got underway Smith would put down a .001 light to Luciano's .014 and at the stripe Smith would take a .0026 margin of victory as he ran a 9.911 to another perfect 9.900 put down by Luciano.

Once again a BIG THANK YOU to all the racers who joined us this weekend. We had a great turnout of cars considering it was Mother's Day weekend. I hope some of the racers who have never raced with MASGA before and showed up this weekend to see what all the jibber jabber I post on here about had a great time and will want to come to more races. MASGA will take a LONG BREAK from racing and resume in mid-July at MAPLE GROVE RACEWAY! So mark your Calenders NOW for July 12th and 13th to come join us!!!
