I have not been following this story but here it is from a liberal source.

For months, one lone senator, Tommy Tuberville, who never served in uniform himself, has held hostage hundreds of military assignments, just to force his social agenda on women in the ranks, freezing all promotions for top military posts, to the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, leaving mission-critical positions to go vacant,” the ad continued.

Tuberville has held up more than 250 military promotions and nominations in the Senate since March in protest of the Pentagon’s policy to offer paid leave and reimburse service members who travel across state lines to obtain an abortion.

OK , this is my Conservative view. The liberals will not remove the clause in the bill to fund female soldiers to cross state lines to have an abortion. Therefore holding up hundreds of Marine promotions. All the liberals need to do is remove funding abortion and the promotions are done. Easy enough. But noooooo, blame a republican to vote for a pro abortion bill..... stupid fight for the democrats, IMO, take the abortion crap out, promote those deserving and fight the abortion funding another day (that they can't win)
Ed, this reminds me of the Bud Light situation. (Right or wrong). Bud Light attempted to appease such a small portion of their consumer base and that was stupid. Democrats are holding up the bill for such a small number of female military. My advise to Tubberville is keep doing what you are doing. I'm sure he ran on a "pro life" platform. If he would cave in to liberals now his political career would be over. My advise to democrats is drop abortion from the bill and live to fight another day.
