After all of my research into converters for the Cavalier I came to the realization that the loosest converter available to fit this trans came in 84-85 Sunbird 1.8 turbos. Yep, I cleaned up mostly all of my Sunbird stuff and scrapped it a couple of years ago including a couple of converters. Luckily for me, I was able to find a re-man sitting on a shelf in North Jersey at a very reasonable price.
The Cavalier is no Sunbird! It is nowhere as easy to work on and I'm not talking about anything that concerns a laptop, I'm talking about nuts-and-bolts. Two and a half days to change the converter. I'm sure that it won't take me as long to do it again but well, you guys do understand this "learning-process" thing right?
To put an end to this story, the car picked up 2 tenths and 2 MPH. It's still pretty dead in the 60 and 330 and I'm starting to think that I'm just trying to run it too lean down low. I'll have to "consult" my Tuner" about that. Punk kid.
Billy it didn't spin the tire? Looser convertor?
