Being a baby boomer and follower of all kinds of music, going back to the beginning of the R&R era, sorry to say, I never heard the name Neal Peart until he died.
I knew of Rush, from Canada, and I knew they sold millions of records.
I had heard of Alex Lifeson, as a highly rated guitarist.
Of course, Geddy (Gary) Lee.
I just watched a video interview with him. I saw him to be a classy and intelligent guy. I just simply couldn't stand his voice..Therefore, not the type of music I listen to.
Years ago , I had a shop that was behind a roller skating rink. The owner's son used to come in there and blast Tom Sawyer over the PA, all day, every day. At that point, I had heard enough Rush for a lifetime.
