I recommend radials. I've had great luck with Hoosier and Goodyear; never run M/T but wouldn't be afraid to try them. They don't make the PBR in anything taller than 28" for a 9" wide tire, so I stick with Hoosier C07 92.5" circumference for now.

I strongly feel that the radials are superior if your car will work on them. Do a very small burnout and they will last just as long as any other tire. I feel that the radial construction and higher pressure make the sidewalls last longer than a bias tire with a heavy car.
