69 Bel Air 2 Door Sedan BB
Been reading the forum for some time, and this is my first post.
Building a 69 Bel Air 2 door sedan, mainly for bracket racing because I could never afford a proper stock class campaign. Right now the car is stock, has a 2bbl 327 and TH350. I removed the greasy 10 bolt last year and installed a 4:11 12 bolt. I have a TH400 core for building. Also have the basics for a decent oval port 454.
Just finishing up a front end rebuild and changeover to power front disc brakes. So first question, I am perplexed as to how to set up and improve the front suspension on this car. I am pretty familiar with the 65-70 b-body front ends and have maintained, rebuilt and aligned many over the years.
What can be done do minimize camber and toe change with front end extension and compression? I put in upper ball joint spacers but the upper a-arm geometry went to heck. Using shim stacks on the upper arms didn't help. I removed them and am back to mostly stock. Will I need to get into cutting and modifying upper arms?
Any expertise or help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Mark
