Default Re: "Live" from the Dutch Classic

Some comments and observations from Friday at the Dutch. Again it was another perfect weather day clear blue sky's and temps in the low 70s - the kind of racing whether we all dream about. The racing went smoothly today with just a few minor interruptions for breakage. The Super Street and SG turn out was a little lite. SC turnout seemed OK. I didn't see very many top dragster or top sportsman cars and only a handful of comp cars. Stock and SS were done with their two qualifying runs by 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

The weather for the first run in the morning was just a little bit better than yesterday with temps a little cooler, but the barometer a little lower. By the time the second qualifying round was run the barometer had fallen a couple hundredths - temps were up and as a result most cars fell off anywhere between .03 to .06.

As reported earlier the stock qualifying sheet does not include the first round due to a computer snafu. Those times will be added to the database but I think the times for the class runs could be quicker and juggle sheet quite a bit.

There's a strong possibility of rain in the area tomorrow and depending on which forecast you look at there may be just the period of showers midmorning or heavy rain that washes out the complete day.

Finally for those racers not in Division 1, this really is one of those bucket list races. We've all watched these races from D3 or D5 and wondering how fast would I go if I could run in that good D1 air. The light turnout in some of the super categories and top categories makes this race feel almost like a Stock SS show. there will be some good class racing and shootouts tomorrow (weather permitting) which adds to the excitement level of this race. It can make for a nice way to close out the season.
