As for qualifying with no AHFS, I say keep it in place but get rid of the automatic 1.20 hit during qualifying, I think it would most likely result in every track having mineshaft conditions, like Indy in September.
Kind of off topic but I think anytime a racer runs quicker than their class record, whether in qualifying or eliminations, that motor should be torn down if time permits, or immediately sealed up with that paint they use and allowed to finish the race. The racer should be given a certain time frame to go through the tear down process and, once cleared, be awarded that record. Some points/money/etc. for setting the record would be nice also.
