Thanks so much everybody, I'm still reeling from the shock! I don't think it has hit me yet! I would like to thank all the people who came up to me and wished me well, it does make a difference in your mindset. As Jim Woods said, I almost didn't go to Immokalee because the refrigerator crapped out on me on Monday but the guys at LaMesa put me at the front of the service line to get me back on the road. On top of that the fresh water pump quit on me on the RV Friday so I had to share the water I brought for Tonka (dog) in gallon jugs! Ever heard of the term GI Bath? Yeah, well I am a veteran of them now!
Thanks to Frank and all the IHRA guys who called me "Stinky Jim" and "The Old Man" and joked with me all weekend. You guys are the best!
And Ralph Hester puts on the best race and BBQ in the business! If you've never been to Immokalee you should do yourself a favor and attend next year. It doesn't hurt that there's a Seminole Casino two miles from the track either! Ask Jim Woods how he did on the slots Friday night!
I would be remiss not to thank George Widuch for building a car that even an idiot can win with! I'm really looking forward to Bradenton, South Georgia and Orlando now. I can't wait to see all my great racing and Class Racer friends again soon! Jim
