Mike, you are correct they did it quicker years ago. Speaking with a track manager I know, we were discussing this subject during a oildown.
There are 3 Major changes that have significantly slowed it down: 1 Synthetic oil, much harder to clean up, 2 Concrete sidewalls, cannot blow the absorbent into the grass, 3 Racers need for more traction compound on track (harder to clean oil off, and then have to reapply
