Aluminum flywheel and clutch with a replaceable riveted or bolted steel friction surfaces are lighter and require a little less horsepower to accelerate.
Steel flywheels and pressure plates are cheaper to purchase and service and last longer. I prefer steel and presently use Ram.
I run a 305 powered J/S Trans Am 5 speed 2.75 first 6.0 rear gear mostly 1/8 th mile---Trevor
