Last week they held the IHRA div 2 bracket finals in Memphis 13 tracks sent their top points leaders in each class. I love drag racing especially stock eliminator. I have a stocker and a bracket car, running a small business and with one son still I college I don't get to run the stocker much or spend a lot on it to be quick, but I do what I can and enjoy every minute of it. My son and I double entered the bracket car all this year and both qualified to be in the finals! They don't allow double entries in the finals so I decided to run the stocker even though many of the cars coming would be utilizing transbrakes and buttons on the steering wheel which is allowed, I would be old school footbraking with no electronics at all. There were 96 cars which made the first round at about noon on Sunday. Lo and behold with the help of the Good Lord the final was run at 9 PM that night and the win light came on in the lane of the old guy in the Orange Camaro stocker!!! Most of my opponents during the 7 rounds were 1/2 my age with all the latest bracket gadgets!!! So take courage guys and continue on we can still do it with Class!
Well done Kenny. Not only a stocker, but an old school stocker, with a 4 speed.
