*seats account for 60 pounds
*changing the rear bumper to a roll pan removed 35 pounds
*work on both doors amounted to 16 pounds total removed
About the Mark Williams front brakes. I am still pondering/questioning if I made the correct decision in that department. My reason for changing from factory brakes to aftermarket brakes was to save weight. The factory brakes are completely able to safely stop the truck, no issue at all with safe brake performance.
My "reservation" about my decision to install Mark Williams is not one of quality but I question the weight savings. I will know the answer soon when I remove the factory brakes and weigh all the hardware. The Williams set I bought is the above 3000 pounds system with four piston calipers, heavy duty hubs and heavy duty rotors. I will be surprised if there is five - six pounds difference between the two.
I am also considering returning the set I have now in exchange for the next lighter system. At this time I think the cost is too much for such a small gain.
What ever the outcome about the brakes the truck is at least 120 or so pounds lighter.
