Hi Guys,
I know this was posted almost a year ago, but I am finally clearing off the dust on Tin Soldier and getting the old warhorse back into shape.
I will be at No Problem tomorrow night with Tin Soldier to start the process of sorting it out with a friend Ricky.
I have "learned to love racing again" as my kids have both recently gotten into the hobby.
My son, whom just got his 14' Camaro V6, surprised me by saying how much he liked the Tin Soldier story and Mr. Ron and his son Jason having Tin Soldier II and III. He approached me about modding his Camaro into TS IV.
So... What can you do with a 2014 Camaro, V6, Convertible?
Twin Turbos of course.
Making about 440hp and 410 Tq on 13.5lbs of boost. All on a V6 Camaro and 93 pump gas.
So far the best run with drag radials is 12.81
Of course, my daughter not to be outdone by her brother, wanted to learn. She talked my wife into letting her learn on her 14' Cadillac CTS VSport, also a twin turbo car.
Here they both are a few weeks back at capital in Baton Rouge
Now they are both hooked and when we go I am lucky to get a pass in. So, its time to break out Tin Soldier and show them what real American Muscle is all about.
I have been talking with Jason, Mr. Rons son and we are trying to setup a event to meet at between New Orleans and Ohio this spring and get all 4 cars together. Jason's TS III is also a Turbo car.
Anyways, I remembered this old thread from when I acquired Tin Soldier and wanted to let you guys know that one, it was not restored into a "original" trailer queen and two, that true to its heritage it will be back on the track (although with me as a driver, driven no where near as well as when Mr. Ron was running).
Hopefully this spring/summer we can get Mr. Ron back behind the wheel and see if the old warhorse can still run with the best of em.
