Re: O.h.i.o.
I really appreciate those Buckeye fans, but also their "tolerance"of outsiders amongst their midst. True story:
Back in May, myself and 2 buddies traveled to Columbus for the inaugural Autometer Northern Class Nationals,, and had a great time. Now if you saw me, I was the crazy guy walking around in shorts for 3 days and had a mix of Classracer.com items to wear, but also some Seattle Seahawks Superbowl XLVIII gear too.
So,, after the days activities were done on Saturday,, and the racers enjoyed a nice dinner,, and some birthday cake,,, we 3 lowly spectators decided to hit a local bar or lounge and have a good meal and some "beverages". We found a place,, well east of Hebron, whose name escapes me,, but there was a good crowd there, judging from the parking lot,,, so we thought, "Lets try it out." Now I was wearing, a Seahawks hat and hoodie,, here well after dark, and when I came through the door, it got awful quiet for a moment and I saw a lot of the color red and Buckeye paraphernalia,,, AND not a smile in the bunch. I looked at my friends Mike and Dave and said "Oh boy,, Is this really going to happen?" They just looked at me and shrugged, so we grabbed a table and sat down. It took about 2 minutes for the first guy to walk up,, look at us and say, "Nice hat,, congratulations to your Seahawks! I said thanks and throughout the evening quite a few people came up and made small talk with us and told how they were pulling for the Seahawks or were glad they'd won. I also, by the way, made sure I said "Go Buckeyes!" back to them. I didn't get this old by being pretty,, you know.
