The best answer I could give you is that it's never been done before in Super Stock or Stock. 128-cars is the max anywhere.

I think it would also be a nightmare for the guys in the lanes trying to pair the cars after qualifying so the only way it would work would be to make it random pair in the first round like Super Comp and Super Gas. I'm not sure many class racers would want to see that. After all, isn't it a source of pride to have one of the quickest cars in the field?

There haven't been anywhere near this many Super Stock and Stock cars at Indy since 2004 (when the quotas were also at 200) so every qualifying round is going to be meaningful.
