Jimmyparker, in the mid 70`s we raced stock off the national record and they didn`t weight the car with the driver, I weighted close to 300 pounds and some of the guys I raced against in my class at indy (1974 I think )less than 150 pounds. the first year I raced my chevy II we had to use L60/15 style street tires, cheater slicks with tread, as I remember, but I`m getting old and that was long time ago.
