I have met and spoke with some of the greatest people in all of drag racing when starting this journey, and reading these threads, and even more at my first National Open. I see a group dedicated to keeping their sport alive, for the fun, the challenge, and the camaraderie. Sure costs go up, and things arise now and then, but as a whole, the opportunity to race against and meet the people in Class racing is as much if not more of an incentive than the challenge of making something that has no business going fast perform in a tight rules window. So many neat cars and combinations and stories, and such a great colorful history as well. I hope more people see the same thing and continue to get involved, if at the least going to the events to watch, all the way up to jumping in with both feet to build a car. On that end, I have been involved in circle track, off-road, and demolition derbies, from driver to promoter, and no one group has been more willing to help a new competitor, or even a seasoned one, get started, refine, or repair their cars. Cars and combos will come and go, times will be good and bad, but based on the merits of the folks involved here, I just don't see any other place I want to be!
