Default Re: Veterans Day

Having served in Southeast Asia (Medic with the 432nd Support Squadron) and visiting the Wall in DC I can't even fathom the 58,000 lives lost there or the countless others who returned a shadow of their former selves. Sadly, many of those never survived. The sheer numbers are lost on me, the sacrifice of each and every one of them means more to me than I can ever express.

Rightly so, "The Greatest Generation" is heralded because they fought the war that had to be won. Subsequent wars have been fought for less noble reasons but their warriors have a special nobility as well. So much is owed to all of our warriors.
