The window control module will fail with a 16 volt system. You need to use a step down to feed the windows with 13v or less. If you eliminate the smart switch system you need to be sure to roll the window up after you get in the car or the glass will be on the outside of the seal. My windows have worked just fine for 3 years now on 16V, I replaced the factory switches and circuit board with dpdt switches,
