Re: Prayers for the Helms family are needed!
I attended the funeral today in Plant City Florida (near Tampa) for Scott and I have to say it was one of the nicest and moving I have been to in a long time. The Helms family is very close and loving and some of the nicest people I have ever met. I know it was a very hard day for Kevin and Pat but they managed make it through like the champions they are. The preacher (Baptist) did a fine job relating Scotts colorful life to the many people that attended and read many of the comments from this thread to the congregation. There was a very nice video presentation of Scotts life that both put a tear in your eye and made you chuckle.
Scott was a unique individual with a heart of gold and the gift to make friends where ever he went. He could make you smile and forget your problems and was there for you if you needed help. How could you ask for more? I am proud to be able to say Scott was my long time friend and I will miss him greatly. R.I.P. Fat Boy! Save me a pit spot. Jim
