It seems there are no end to the events of which I have no idea what they do - like Fun and Grudge for instance. I guess I'll go and check it out and see where I can compete and have some fun.

Having come from California it's kind of nice to have some tracks to go on a regular basis that aren't closed due to noise, EPA, spotted owls, rare bluegills or seagrass. It will be an education for sure and I'm pretty psyched to give it a try. If anyone has any info to share regarding tracks in the Dallas area and what goes on I would appreciate it.

Carl we have 5 sanctioned(3ihra, 2 nhra)tracks within the DFW metroplex alone. Many more within just a couple hour drive outside. Everyone is racing at some point between Thursday-Sunday every week. Today, we have a door car only event at Dallas Raceway($5000/win Box, $2000 to win no-box). Ill be taking the crate motor car to run no box and my super street car to run Box. Let me know any info you'd be interested in knowing. I race every weekend from February-November in the area when not running divisionals/nationals. I am in North Dallas and every track is within a 30-45min drive from my doorstep.
