Spec trans brake buttons in Super Stock, Comp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7/18/2007

The results of a recent racer survey, in which active competitors in Super Stock and Comp eliminators were asked to provide input on the use of delay devices, have been compiled and finalized. The overwhelming majority of respondents voted against the use of delay devices in both eliminators. Per the parameters of the survey, this decision also means that NHRA will implement a spec trans brake button (or buttons) for both eliminators in 2008.

At this time, NHRA is asking any manufacturer who would like a button accepted for 2008, to submit a sample to the Tech Department at NHRA Headquarters in Glendora. Along with the sample, complete specifications on the switch must be included. While acceptance parameters have not yet been finalized, only mechanical type buttons will be considered; i.e. hydraulics or pneumatics of any description will not be considered. All samples and specifications must be received in Glendora no later than Aug.31, 2007, to be considered for acceptance.

Please note that ONLY Super Stock and Comp eliminators will be affected by this decision.
