Myself being the single worst racer here, I decided that I better try SOMETING.
Ok, it's time for a 2-step.
Have a 6AL, and now the separate little 2-step module "box".
As I understand it, this is not allowed to be directly activated by a switch on the gear shift, etc.
good.... because as the worst racer here, I don't need one more thing to worry about when I'm watching the tree.
So, activated by the clutch pedal, seems to be the permitted and logical method.

I did what I think is a wonderful job of installing a lever-type aftermarket brake light switch, that is activated by the release fork at the bellhousing. Nice and clean, easily adjusted. Have it set to de-activate when the pedal is about 2" off of the floor.
I like it.
Problem is, I do use the clutch to shift. I do NOT want this to be tied into my newly installed line-lock in any way ( more wiring confusion, more to worry about at the tree, and most importantly... line locks do not release INSTANTLY, which I can see adding to increased and un-due resistance to forward motion from the starting line ).
So, it's been suggested that I go through a switch on 1st gear on my transmission.
trouble is, I'll "tap it' on the 1-2 gear change.

my BRILLIANT solution ? ! .... just TOO obvious !
but after reading through some old threads, may be a no-no.
A relay between my clutch switch and 2 step, that delays the activation of the 2-step by a couple seconds ? !
This would allow me to drive to the line, while staging ( clutch pedal depressed ), after a couple seconds, the two step would activate, and set my rev limit on the low side, so I have less to worry about. Immediately upon releasing the clutch pedal, the 2-step would not activate again, unless I held the cluch pedal down for more than a couple seconds.

probably too good to be true ( acceptable ) ?

No starting line advantage, harder launch, or even any advantage to consistency here.
Just a system to halp give me one less thing to worry about.
